Giò Ponti probably needs no introduction: he's been arguably the most influential personality in italian design and architecture for almost three decades, from the Fifties throughout the Seventies. In his long career, he's been able to leave an unforgettable mark on furniture, tableware, architecture and interior decoration.
Amongst his most famous works, stands the 699 Chair designed for Cassina, and aptly name "Superleggera", italian for Ultralight, given its feather-like weight of just 1700 grams per chair. Still produced and loved today, the Superleggera is one of the most loved chairs ever.
We are glad to offer these two original chairs, produced and originally delivered in the seventies and now refinished in smooth black velvet to compliment the black lacquered wood frame.
